AI WEEK 2026

At AI WEEK 2026, Maurizio La Cava brought a practical question to the stage: how can people turn access to AI into the ability to work well with it?
The keynote received an average usefulness rating of 4.59/5 from 44 respondents. Their comments highlighted human judgement, a clear adoption framework and a balanced view of where AI adds value.
CLIENT BACKGROUND
AI WEEK brings professionals, business leaders and the technology community together to explore artificial intelligence and its applications.
On 19 May 2026 at Fiera Milano Rho, Maurizio La Cava delivered “AI Fluency: the new language of human-AI collaboration” on Standup Stage 1. The session addressed the human capabilities needed to make AI useful in everyday work.
CHALLENGE
Give the audience a way through the noise. New tools and announcements can make AI feel like a moving target. The keynote needed to offer a useful way to interpret that change.
Connect technology with human decisions. Knowing how to generate an output is only part of the work. People still need to define the objective, provide context and judge the result.
Make adoption concrete. Turn a broad topic into a framework and familiar use cases that participants could relate to their own work.
MLC brought its AI Fluency framework to AI WEEK 2026 through a keynote on effective collaboration between people and artificial intelligence.
Help a diverse professional audience move from keeping up with AI tools to understanding how and when to use them.
A keynote by Maurizio La Cava built around Awareness, Approach, Application and Advocacy, with presentations as a familiar business use case.
4.59/5 average usefulness rating from 44 respondents; 41 rated the keynote 4 or 5 out of 5. Comments highlighted balance, human judgement and the adoption framework.

SOLUTION
MLC structured the session around the MLC AI Fluency framework: Awareness, Approach, Application and Advocacy.
The four dimensions connected understanding AI’s possibilities and limits with giving it direction, applying it to meaningful tasks and sharing experience within an organisation.
Matteo Orsini managed the project for MLC. Maurizio La Cava delivered the keynote on stage.
Awareness: understand what AI can contribute, recognise its limits and choose which developments deserve attention.
Approach: give AI context, a method and clear expectations, then use human judgement to assess and improve the output.
Application and Advocacy: practise on relevant tasks and share what works, so individual learning can support a wider culture of adoption.
AI Fluency is a human capability. The central question is how people guide the technology and decide where it belongs in their work.
Presentations provided a concrete entry point: a familiar business task that brings together objectives, audience understanding, storytelling, visual choices and critical review. The audience’s comments echoed this focus on human decisions and on knowing when to use AI.
Preparation combined the content of the keynote with the practical needs of the event. MLC coordinated slide delivery, computer connectivity, microphone arrangements and access for technical checks with the organisers.
On 19 May, Maurizio delivered the session on Standup Stage 1, using the framework and presentation examples to make the topic tangible.
A post-session questionnaire asked participants how useful they had found the talk and what had stood out. The results and selected comments are reported below.

RESULTS
High perceived usefulness. Of 44 distinct respondents, 29 rated the keynote 5/5, 12 rated it 4/5 and three rated it 3/5. The average was 4.59/5, with 93% giving a score of 4 or 5.
A balanced message resonated. Comments specifically mentioned where AI should not be used, the importance of the human factor and the user’s decision-making role.
The framework made adoption tangible. Participants also highlighted the AI adoption model, practical use cases, energy and clarity. These are immediate audience reactions to the keynote.
CONCLUSION
AI WEEK gave MLC an opportunity to make AI Fluency concrete for an audience exploring the technology’s role in business.
The takeaway was a practical direction: understand AI, give it a method, apply it where it helps and share the learning. The feedback shows that the balance between opportunity and human judgement was one of the messages that stayed with participants.
