BeConnected day 14

At BeConnected day 14, Maurizio La Cava brought Neuro Presentation Design to the stage with an opening keynote on a question every presenter faces: how do you earn attention when creating slides has become easier than ever?
The session received an average rating of 4.90/5 from 67 respondents, with 60 giving the highest score.
CLIENT BACKGROUND
BeConnected day brings together the ICT community around Microsoft technologies, professional learning and the exchange of practical experience.
For its 14th edition, held in Pioltello, Italy, on 11 June 2026, MLC contributed an opening keynote connecting artificial intelligence, presentation design and the way people process information. The audience feedback included professionals in IT, consulting, sales and business leadership across a wide range of organisations.
CHALLENGE
Make attention a design decision. Generating more slides does not guarantee that the audience will understand the message.
Connect AI with human communication. Give a technology-focused audience a practical perspective on what presenters still need to decide: what matters, where people should look and what they should remember.
Make the method visible on stage. Demonstrate the principles through the experience of the keynote itself, with clear visual examples and a compelling spoken narrative.
MLC delivered an opening keynote on Neuro Presentation Design at BeConnected day 14, showing how deliberate design choices can guide attention when AI makes slide creation faster.
Help an ICT audience look beyond slide production and focus on attention, clarity and memorable communication.
A live keynote by Maurizio La Cava combining cognitive principles, visual examples, storytelling and the relationship between AI and presentation design.
67 feedback responses; 4.90/5 average; 60 top ratings. Participants highlighted sustained attention, clarity, energy and useful ideas.

SOLUTION
Maurizio delivered “Neuro Presentation Design: designing attention when AI creates the slides”.
The keynote connected the possibilities of AI with a deliberate approach to communication: guide the eye, reduce unnecessary cognitive effort and make the central idea easier to follow. Live examples, the slide sequence and the closing video made those principles part of the audience’s experience.
Matteo Orsini managed the engagement as MLC’s project manager. Maurizio La Cava led the keynote on stage.
Start from the people watching. Design for what the audience needs to understand, rather than everything a presenter could include.
Make attention visible. Use contrast, visual hierarchy and focus points to show how a slide directs the viewer’s gaze. Participants specifically mentioned the analysis of attention and heatmaps in their feedback.
Connect explanation with experience. Let the delivery, visual examples and storytelling demonstrate the method as it is being explained.
When AI accelerates slide creation, the presenter’s judgement becomes even more consequential. Choosing the message and directing attention remain central to whether an idea is understood.
The keynote gave that idea a concrete form: presentation design is a way to shape how people follow a message, from the first visual cue to the final takeaway.
MLC developed the keynote proposal around Neuro Presentation Design and aligned the session with the BeConnected team. The final title explicitly connected attention design with AI-generated slides.
On 11 June, Maurizio delivered the session live in Pioltello. After the event, MLC collected feedback and shared follow-up resources with participants.
The MLC Heatmap Generator is a related resource for exploring the visual-attention questions raised during the keynote.

RESULTS
A strong immediate audience response. Across 67 responses, 60 participants rated the keynote 5/5 and seven rated it 4/5, giving an average of 4.90/5. Almost 90% of respondents gave the highest score.
Attention and clarity stood out. Participants described the ability to keep attention high, the clarity of the content, the scientific approach and the analysis of focus points and heatmaps.
The delivery reinforced the message. Energy, slide design, storytelling and the closing video were recurring themes. The comments below capture selected audience reactions to the session.
CONCLUSION
BeConnected day 14 gave MLC an opportunity to bring Neuro Presentation Design into a technology community discussing the impact of AI.
The keynote put attention at the centre of that conversation. The audience response shows how strongly the combination of clear ideas, purposeful visuals and engaging delivery resonated with the professionals who completed the feedback form.
